working with us
how we work | benefits for you
We always do "the groundwork"...
We start by talking to you about your business, so that we understand the essentials for a successful website. That means discussing:
- Your business model
- Your customers (the ones you have & the ones you want)
- What you want to achieve, from the business and the website
We know that "no project is an island", so we make sure we understand:
- Your 'must-haves' (like logos & colours, for example)
- A time frame for the project
Then we set out the ideal "customer journey" through the website for your customers, with your objectives in mind, and use it as the basis for whatever work we do
Working this way means together we're always focused on the results and their benefits for your business
web design
new websites | refreshing your website
We start by talking to you to understand your business
When we've done "the groundwork", we mock up a site for you - so you know what your site will look like, the pages it will have, how it will work - and most importantly, how your website visitors will become your customers
With that agreed, we go away & build the site, whilst ensuring we maximise its potential for visibility on search engines. And keeping you up to date with progress along the way
The end result is a website that does exactly what your business needs
What does it cost?
WillsonWebDesign has a transparent approach to costs, charging a flat hourly rate. We agree with you the time required in advance
To give you a guide, a new, simple website starts from around £500. An online shop will usually cost more, depending on how many products you sell
Refreshing your existing website starts from £300
Putting a blog into your existing website starts from £150

search engine optimisation
one-off optimisation | ongoing management
It starts with talking to you about your business and you, and what you want to achieve
Then we research how people use search engines in relation to your industry & business. The research gives us words & phrases to which your site should be optimised
Ranking high on search engines depends on two factors:
- On-site factors, including a site that the search engines can read properly; having the right words & phrases in the right places on page; and a good site structure
- Off-site factors, including (most importantly) inward links from other websites; plus a site that is submitted & sitemapped by the search engines
We show you what we recommend to optimise the site towards, and when it's agreed we go ahead with the changes to your site
We also give you our recommendations for attracting the all-important links to your site - such as including a blog; using Twitter; or writing industry-related 'How-To' content. You can do it yourself, or we can work out a cost for helping you with it
We can do Search Engine Optimisation just once - we call it a "Search Engine Foundation" - and you can carry on optimising the site yourself as time goes by (using the guide we supply you with to help)
We can work with you on an ongoing basis - we call it "Search Engine Management" - spending time each month to investigate search trends, update the site & continue to develop the all-important inward links
Either way, the end result is Search Engine Optimisation that does exactly what your business needs
What does it cost?
WillsonWebDesign has a transparent approach to costs, charging a flat hourly rate. We agree with you the time required in advance. To give you a guide to costs:
Search Engine Foundation for a simple site costs £150, and includes essential changes to your site plus a guide for you to work with in the future
Search Engine Foundation for an eCommerce or dynamic site costs from £400, and it's worth getting in touch so we can discuss your specific needs & work out the cost
